I am such a hopeless romantic. Or so I like to think. Last Valentines Day I gave my wife a crab trap, with lead cored line and float. Contrary to what you are thinking, she was ecstatic. Ebullient even. And it paid off big this past summer in Desolation Sound, with "best Valentines Day gift ever" noises between cracking of crab claws. So why mess with success? We need a prawn trap for this summer' trip. I see multiple designs out there. Do any of you Tugnuts have a recommendation?

Thanks. Beats flowers and chocolate.

Hi

I have been using Mckay Shrimp & crab gear for years and very successful. This is shrimp pots that
most the tribes use. The three spots prawns are down between 200 and 300ft. The Canadian rules allow
200 a per day for each fisherman. we allow only 80 each day and a 4 day season and 4 hours each day. They have a web site
(Mckay Shrimp & crab gear).

I use these ladner pots, or another brand (??) that looks much the same. The're SS, light and plenty strong enough, and they stack, so it's easy to carry two or more. I keep them on the cabin roof.

They have them in 1/2" mesh too.
