I am replacing my water pump on a R23 with a new a johnson variable speed pump. I will be installing a small accumulator at the same time. With a standard pump I know you set the accumulator pressure to about 3 psi below the pump cut in pressure. The variable speed pump doesn't have a "cut in " pressure as it always tries to maintain 60 psi. With that in mind, what do I sent the accumulator pressure to? If its less than 60 psi then it doesnt seem like the accumulator would provide any value. Do I set it at 60 or even a few pounds higher?
What have other folks done that run a variable speed water pump with an accumulator?
