Privacy Curtains - R29

All,

I did a search on curtains and only got 7 or 8 matches among 7 or 8 diferent threads, so decided to start a new topic.

Sooooo, there are several windows on the R29 (rear, front, helm door, etc) that do not appear to have privacy curtains. My wife and I are interested in how all of you R29 and other (R25 and R21) owners have addressed getting privacy in the salon and helm areas?

A new Ranger 29 comes with curtains for every window. The back door and back two windows have a velcro cover made out of the canvas material . 🙂

While the factory delivers every boat with curtains, we chose not to get them. Maureen made simple panels that velcro to the window frame. They are bright and colorful on the inside, black on the outside. She sewed batting into them to also give them and insulating factor. The thing we like is we have privacy when we want it, and a nice clean look when we don't need the privacy.

Like the Spirit of Gratitude, our R-29 came with curtains. We either have curtains or canvas that cover all of the windows. The helm curtain is short and matches the length of the other curtains in the galley. To add length to the helm curtain so people can't see inside at night or early morning, I am going to make a curtain out of the same fabric that will cover the rest of the helm sliding door and attach it by using velcro.

I think the factory is making that helm door curtain longer now. It came up as a issue after they changed to the full glass door. We brought it up to them and they made us the velcro attachment for the helm door and said that they would do that from now on.
