This has come up a number of times recently. A member submits (sends) a private message and the recipient doesn't receive or read it. The sender hasn't done anything wrong, and the PM system isn't broken.
PMs aren't "pushed" to the recipient. The subject line sits in your Outbox and their Inbox until the recipient reads, or "pulls", them. Then the subject line will move from your Outbox to your Sent message box.
Some members have selected to receive email notifications when a PM has been sent to them. You can check how your preference is set by going to > User control panel > Board preferences > Notify me on new private message. The is also a # new messages indicator and link in blue Menu box in the upper right hand corner of the home page. Good thing to check on regularly.
