I have had my boat drydocked from most recent storm. House batteries drained and were dead, although I was able to start engine and use thrusts when dropped into water. Upon arriving at home pier, I connected ac power cords to boat--lights came on AC1 and AC2. Lights were on at panel inside my R-31 boat 2012. Lower bank had lights and meter read power; however upper bank shows no lights and meter reads no power. I make sure all power cords are working and they are. I make sure pro mariner is "on" position but the green lights come on for a flash and I turn it into "on" position but then it goes out with no lights at all. I've let boat sit with charge and power for past 4-5 hours but nothing happens. I am unable to use any of my electronics. Does this mean I have a defective pro mariner switch or is it that my boat had been drained so much power, that this switch will not come on until everything is fully charged and then pro-mariner switch will light up green. Remember, the power bank "2" is operational and shows "power on needle" but the ones (banks) above "2" are completely dead with no power showing on needle. Can you tell me next step?

Hello jswood,

Why don't you give me a call at the factory, 253-839-5213, I think this would be easiest if we could troubleshoot together over the phone.

Thanks,
-Kenny

This is why the Ranger/Cutwater team is awesome! =)

I agree....they are so VERY awsome! Thanks, Kenny, for talking with me. But....guess what? While working on the boat trying to figure out the dilemma while having full power on AC 2 power bank, around almost 13 volts on DC bank, but not being able to turn on Pro Mariner (button would not light up green when turning on) to get power on AC 1 power bank....I thought, I must have a voltage problem from my shore power. Remember me saying that my house batteries were all completely "dead" with "0" power inasmuch as I could not even use my electronics when I picked it up from dry dock storage (from Hurricane Matthew).....after 6.5 hours of charging with shore power.....the pro mariner light came on and I now have power on my AC 1 power bank!!!!! Electronics working fine and all of the breaker switches have lights! Hallelujah!

Side note: Reason I thought I had voltage problems because when I turned on the DC breakers (and it said I had between 12-13 volts) for let's say....the galley lights...they were flashing on/off and were dimmly lit. But again...this ended up being that the battery banks were not fully charged yet. Once the 6.5 hours of full shore power charged up batteries...everything AOKAY! Thanks for your help in assisting my comprehension of the pro mariner and its in-line fuse...this was extremely valuable info.

This happened to me as well , There was a small circuit breaker mounted under the engine hatch that had tripped. At first I didn't know what it was for and noticed I had a tripped breaker, then I reset it and all my electronics started working .

IU also thought my battery was dead and the light would come on briefly when charging and then go out , Because the battery was fully charged .

Where is the breaker that post is referencing under engine hatch for pro-mariner with 2012 R-31? My pro-mariner is dead even while attached to shore power (which has juice because light is on on AC1 incoming. But, the AC-1 power bank shows no voltage on meter. There is voltage on power banks 2 but not 1.

jswood,

Have you checked the two (2) ELCI breakers? Those ELCI breakers are behind the stern cockpit seat on my 2014 R31.

Have you checked the switch on the display on the inside edge of the aft dinette seat? It should be on charge.
