Recently the chart lights on our 2016 C24 refuse to turn off, regardless of the chart light switch at the helm. The only way I have found to turn them off is to turn the House Battery switch to "off". Even disconnecting the wires from the chart light switch at the helm does not turn off the chart lights. The normal behavior of the chart lights is for the switch at the helm to first turn on the white chart lights, then with another off-on of the switch to turn off the white lights and turn on red chart lights, and then another switch action to turn the chart lights off completely. My guess is that the helm switch pulses a ratchet relay that then sequentially controls white/red/off for the chart lights. Maybe there is a solid state control that does this. My problem is locating it! So far I have not been able to trace the blue/yellow-stripe wire from the helm switch beyond the region behind the helm switches. Before taking apart the boat to search further, I hope that someone can provide useful guidance. I have a phone mail call into Fluid Motion this afternoon, but have not yet heard back.

This problem is now solved, with helpful, patient advice from Carl Manning at Edgewater Yacht Sales (Pensacola, FL) and Kenny Marrs at Fluid Motion (Auburn, WA). It turns out that my memories about how the chart light switch had worked were wrong! The three lights above the helm are in fact controlled by a switch next to the cave entrance, when these lights are being used in "white" mode. The helm switch for "chart lights" controls the "red" lights in two of the three over-helm fixtures. My inability to switch off the white over-helm lights was because I had forgotten that they are controlled by the switch next to the cave entrance. I must have bumped that switch from "off" to "on" when I was putting stuff into the cave. Now I see that everything is working as it should!

I really appreciate the willingness of Carl Manning and Kenny Marrs to help me solve the problem, and for their patience in dealing with someone who was obviously confused.
