I’m in the process of acquiring a 2019 29 ft CB. During the orientation, which was nothing like I was told it would be, the steering on the boat malfunctioned, the Garmin didn’t work (it was later found it had a recall) and the AC was not working correct. When the steering malfunctioned we almost hit a marker pole!
Has anybody else experienced this?

Hello
Yes I had a leak on my 2019 Ranger 27 power steering line fluid the intake and return line came loose and lost all steering (Yamaha 350 )
that is why I have a 9.9 kicker in case the main motor has a problem. The factory came out that day and got it running.
Sometimes I think with a boat it could be better to buy a two year old boat so someone else gets the bugs out however I still like new. I had the two day factory experience that was good however first time boat owner its overwhelming.
However the factory is a phone call away and they have been really great at helping on the phone with questions and answers.
Boats are not like the new cars today new boats have bugs

I just feel for the amount of money it costs it should be pristine. I haven’t even taken delivery yet and all these issues occurred.

I would delay delivery until you are 100% satisfied. May be prudent to have the boat surveyed to make sure the builder and the dealer did their job, from what you experienced someone hasn't.

The problems normally doesn't have any problems for a while.
1st problem @ 30 hrs. port side trim tab broke wouldn't work.
2nd problem @ 50 hrs. power steering went out. Two leak at fittings.
3rd problem@60 hrs. under head sink hot there was a leak factory fault they put the slip on fitting over pipe that was rough. I cut the pipe where there was a smooth part of the pipe. Factory sent out a new fitting.
4th problem @ 80 hrs. I had gas in my oil so the oil level was high and I couldn't get the engine temp over 125 degrees and Yamaha wants it at 160 so I have a bad T stat I really don't know how long that has been going on I hope I didn't screw my motor up. I have never been able to break the engine in the way I should because the temp as far as I know.

Unfortunately this happens more when the boating industry is in its up swing which is now. I have a good friend that owns a dealership in the Chicago market ( not Fluid Motion products ) . He told me last week he sold 80 units over the winter and is struggling to get them all delivered. Manufactures push units out the door and expect Dealers to do the Quality Control. Dealers are selling boats and need to move them. Unfortunately the consumer gets caught up dissatisfied. This unfortunately also happens to Ranger tug and Cutwater owners too. There are check sheets that should be used. If every new owner insist that the dealer or factory goes over every item listed on the PDI with them, demonstrates, installed properly and functioning properly . The quality control will be working. When delivery day comes there should be no surprises. There are 2 PDI's a engine manufacture and Fluid Motion. Every box should be checked off by the dealer and the new owner and signed. If the new owner is not knowledgeable of all systems do what Brian B suggested have a surveyor present for Pre-delivery. There are many installations on these boats. Its not like a car or a small fishing boat. Just because it's new doesn't mean its built right, followed ABYC, NMMA recommendations. Just because it has a NMMA certified sticker doesn't mean it follows all the recommendations. You as the consumer are expecting it does. The manufacturer is saying it does. But sometimes the manufacturer interrupts recommendations differently or the craftsman assembling it doesn't follow through. Having a strong quality control atmosphere in the manufactures policies helps but doesn't eliminate short cuts in assembly. Having a factory PDI done before the boat leaves the factory helps, but things get over looked.( the transport truck is here gotta get it loaded) These are awesome boats, for the most part a good reputation in quality and customer service. Their product line is increasing, demands are larger, be a smart consumer don't take anything for granted and your experience will be better. I wish I would have done that. Emphasis on PRE-delivery inspection !! Good Luck!

Thanks also I love my Ranger
