Our 2016 R31CB has the ProMariner 2500QS charger / inverter. With the boat plugged in to 30amp shore power, AC1 turned on and the red remote panel switch set to Charger Mode, the green Inverter light on the actual charger illuminates and then after a second the yellow Charging light and green Shore Power light on either side of the inverter light illuminate and the Inverter light shuts off. After a few more seconds, a click is heard, the lights on the charger all go out, and a high pitched beep sounds continuously. Any thoughts as to what is happening? The owner's manual isn't much help, and I have called the factory multiple times and there is no answer.

Others wiser than I will have to weigh in on this, but I had pretty much the same thing happen. The problem was the transfer switch. As you will see from earlier posts about this charger/inverter, it is a black box that cannot be serviced. I replaced mine with a used unit I got on EBay, since it is no longer being made (according to the manufacturer when I called them). That is not good news, I know, since these are not cheap, although they are relatively easy to swap out. Again, smarter electrical gurus will weigh in I am sure. Sorry I have no easy solution.

Ditto on the transfer switch. I was able to buy a new one online a couple of years ago.

It sounds like it may be the transfer switch shutting down and then going into inverter mode. I would first try plugging into shore power. I assume you are putting the pro-mariner toggle in the up position. Do not turn on any breakers. Then turn on the main. Then turn on outlet breakers only with nothing plugged in. See if transfer switch clicks off during this sequence. I think what is happening is that the switch is going off and then the pro-mariner goes into inverter only mode and with all the items on it is then giving you an overload warning. As you start to increase load I suspect if the switch clicks off the overload warning will sound. May be time to get a new inverter. Xantrex makes a combo unit. It has the ability to set the transfer switch so that the inverter won't automatically go into inverter mode. https://www.xantrex.com/power-products/inverter-chargers/freedom-sw-12v_newgen.aspx
