My new-to-me prop is slightly bent and therefore I'm experiencing vibrations at high RPM. I don't want to talk about how it got that way, but I won't do that again. At any rate...

I intend to send the prop to be repaired but feel there is a good argument for replacing it with a new prop and keeping the current as a spare. In case I do, in fact, do that again.

I've tried to determine which prop, exactly, is installed on the boat. I've got a message out to the parts distributor now for well over a week, and an email to a prop dealer. I've scoured TugNuts but haven't found a make/model.

Does anyone know how to get this information???

Thanks, as always,

John

Should be stamped on the old prop somewhere. Mine was on my 2008 R25. Factory looked to be 17r14 with QSD 150HP but it was repitched to 17r12 with a repower to QSD 130HP 10 years ago ..... I've very recently repowered and she is now on her third engine running a 17r14 again also. A good prop shop should be able to make the calculations pretty close based on diameter , engine HP, weight, etc .... they originally calculated a 17R17 for my repower but we pulled back to the 17R14 after sea trials so the new engine could hit full rated RPM as intended.

I replaced with a VERY similar looking prop so it very well could be the same brand... Michigan Wheel is t he Brand. Hope it helps.

Our 2009 R-25 Classic with a Yanmar 4BY2-150 had an Acme prop 2318 19.0 x 23.0, 4 blade, RH, no cup. 1.5” shaft.

Whoops, my bad! That’s the prop specs on our 2017 C-28. Pulled the wrong file up!

Thanks for that, but our boat has the Volvo Penta D-150 and a 3-blade prop.

how in the world did you fit a 19" prop on the R25 classic! ... I have the same hull and 17" gives me just 2" clearance from tip to hull , was your clearance down to 1" from prop tip to hull? Any cavitation issues?

You’re correct - not the data for the R-25. My bad!

Go it...the correct prop is an ACME model number 1386, 17x14.
