Can anyone tell me the size of the prop nut anode for a R-21EC (2006)? I believe it's metric - thanks.

Size is based on shaft diameter. Generally they are from Canada and are available at your local West Marine store or online. Check your shaft diameter and look in their catalog. I know it fits over the nut but it is still sold based on shaft diameter.

I think you are looking for a size C anode. That's what is on a 2010 21EC.

Ditto on our 2007.

Thanks everyone for the info - I did try a Size C but it spins freely on the prop nut and the prop nut included with the Size C complete assembly (Anode & nut) has a slightly larger thread than the shaft on the boat - that's why I thought it might be metric (25mm?). I will check the actual shaft diameter. Thanks again.

Hello Al,

Size C fits 1-1 1/8 inch diameter shaft sizes so 25mm should be covered. Does the included bolt engage the threads on the prop nut and snug the Prop anode? Or, are you saying the retaining bolt does not engage the threads and...hold the zinc in place?

Hi David -

The retaining bolt does engage the threads on the prop nut but the anode still spins freely about the nut and it should not. The other difficulty I have is that the prop nut included with a Type C complete assembly has a slightly larger thread than the shaft does. I'll be at the boat the next two days to take a better look. I do appreciate the input.

Bought a new Type C Anode and it worked just fine - guess the one I was originally working with had some issues. Thanks everyone.

Hello Al,

Glad to hear that is resolved. Did the original 'kit' have the wrong prop nut and/or anode attaching screw?

Hi David -

Sorry for taking so long to reply to your last post - I recently bought the boat and the anode was spinning on the nut. To be honest, I'm not sure if the problem was with the original nut or anode but once I bought a complete assembly, the problem was solved. Thanks again for your input.

Hello Al,

No problem. Before I bought my R21 I read all the posts I could find and I recall one concerning the prop nut anode falling off...so I habitually grab hold of mine to make sure it's tight every time I'm under the boat putting in the plug before launching.
