Can someone with an R21 classic give me a size and or part number for the bearing that is in the keel where the prop shaft exits the keel? Mine is worn, but not badly. I'd like to get a new one in though. Also if you've replaced yours, were there any special tricks required. Mine seems to have two set screws at the keel an inch or so forward of where the prop shaft comes out. I'm thinking that pulling the old bearing may be tricky.

I need to do this also in my R21 Classic and would appreciate the information.

Ranger says it is an SBRG 1.00x1.50x.40

From Ranger:

The cutlass bearing can be purchased at Marine Hardware in Seattle. Part # SBRG1.00x1.50x40. Their PH# is 800-526-5971.

Good luck.

That part number is for a brass bearing. My classic came with a plastic outer tube, but I'm told the brass bearing above will work fine as a replacement. The original composite tubes were apparently custom built for a few model years of the classics.

I'll post my results and please post yours.
