can I replace the hose clamps on the prop shaft rubber with the boat in the water? there are two in place and both are a little rusted. we missed these on the last boat haul.

or am I asking for trouble trying to do this in the water?

Free up one clamp at a time and loosen then remove and replace it. I doubt it would leak if you loosened both. The hose most likely has a set and a seal to the packing gland and log. I would still do one at a time.

Brian said it. Just do one at a time. It only takes one to seal. Two are installed on all connections below the waterline as a failsafe measure.
