I had my R29's bottom painted and Propspeed applied to the prop. Ever since I have a high pitched sing at between 800 and 1300 RPMs. The shop said it couldn't be the Propspeed application, but had no other thoughts. Any ideas? I saw other posts about swapping props, so that's an option I suppose.

Thanks

Hi Gary,

I also have had the same problem. The terms are kinda confusing. I can’t say whether your prop speed application has any impact but for what it’s worth the recommended correction for prop sing seems to be to create an anti singing edge on the “suction side” (the face towards the bow) of the “trailing edge” (the furthest astern part of the prop blade).

The caution I would add is to make sure you do not affect the propeller cup which is on the pressure side of the prop trailing edge (towards the stern of the boat).

I hope this helps.

I have an R29 and 2 years ago, I had the boat hauled and the prop sent to the prop shop - just because. It came back and I have had the prop sing ever since. It is annoying. But the 800-1300 RPM is exactly where mine is as well.

I have another haul scheduled next month, and the prop is going back to get that remedied.
