A Pull-Up Cleat would seem to be a good option for installing midship cleats on the R-25 and R-27. Has anyone considered this and actually went ahead and installed them ?

Barry:

I installed 2 pullup cleats similiar to these on a prior boat and they worked just fine. When I installed them I was able to get to the underside to be able to add some support backing, which I think would be important. Where are you thinking of adding them and do you have good installation access?

Jim: Thanks for that advice and past experience using these. For installation on my R-25 I'm assuming I could access the underside of the side walk by removing some of the starboard pieces at the backside of the storage areas under the galley counter. I may need to discuss this with Andrew or Kenny to find out if this is possible. I did have to snake wires behind these when installing our electric flush toilet... but that was done using the porthole hatch openings and a second person. The wires had to snake all the way forward to the breaker panel at the helm position where I placed a 40 amp circuit breaker in one of the spare locations. I will post back with whatever advice Ranger Tug provides me with.
