I'm planning on pulling the prop on our 21 so I can get the prop cleaned and serviced. Can anyone recommend a puller? How about the cutlass bearing? Is this an easy or tough job? Looks like I need to pull the shaft seal etc. and push the bearings in. Any experience with this is appreciated.

I replaced the cutlass bearing on my 2014 R-21EC in Jan/2021. I did it myself but BBmarine provide a pretty detailed response to the things to do and check while going through this process. It's in a post on here somewhere.

I made up the jigs I needed to pull the prop, bearing and shaft coupling with scrap metal I had lying around.

I removed the batteries and box to provide better access to the stuffing box and shaft coupling. Not lots of room to work there so this makes it easier.

Without going into all the details and steps, I have photos and comments in a document I made for future use. It is nothing fancy but should be of some use to you. Just sent me an email to marcelis@telus.net if you want it and I will try to send it off to you.

Marcel.
