Per the attached exploded view of the raw water pump, it would appear if you removed the serpentine belt and then removed the 3 bolts (#5) that hold the Pulley (#14), you would then be able to remove the two hoses from the water pump assembly. Remove bolt(s) (#6) and the entire pump assembly should be free from the engine. Remove the three bolts and carefully remove the rear of the pump trying to preserve the O-ring seal (16). You would then be able to remove the impeller and replace it with 10615 Impeller, Sherwood (QSD) for $31.73. Am wondering if the O-ring seal comes with the Sherwood Impeller in the event that it needs replacement. Anything to avoid paying the ridiculous price of $449.50 for the CMD water pump repair kit (1).
If you look in the maintenance section of the QSD manual, they recommend replacing the impeller every 100 hours! Has anyone replaced the impeller? If so what procedure was utilized to get at the impeller?
