Greetings one and all,

Just a quick question for those familiar with the 2018 R-27 Outboard:

Can the opened lid of the electric grill, with the grill removed, be used as a fish-cleaning station? Is it sturdy enough or would you need to put a cutting board inside of it?

Thanks, in advance, for any help you can provide.

I've not used the grill area for anything like fish scaling/cutting so far. The grill assembly and its surroundings are very sturdy and I would venture it can stand up to the fishy task activities. If it were me, I'd get a piece of starboard and shape it to fit with the grill removed. The starboard board can easily be replaced if and when it became too dirty etc and at minimum cost.

Also note that with the grill left in place and with the stainless steel lid and side flaps laid down you have a clean metal surface to work on, and also the overhanging lid itself which has an exposed metal surface. So this may also be a solution for you.
