Hey fellow 21 owners!

When I anchor in my 21ec, I pay out off and over the anchor roller and tie off the rode at the bow cleat behind the anchor roller. When the boat swings, the line chafes a little on the sides on the anchor roller; the steel edges are a bit sharp on either side of the rubber roller wheel.

I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or done something to solve it. Maybe I’m just doing it totally wrong and I need to rig up a bridle that comes over the bow chocks.

I appreciate any insight. We’ve never slept overnight on anchor, but want to this summer. I’ll sleep a lot better once I know if I’m doing something wrong and/or there’s a way to eliminate the chaffing.

I bought some self stick rubber padding from Amazon and applied it on the bow roller. Never had a chafing issue.

I haven't experienced any chaffing yet, but I typically use moorings instead of the anchor. However, I have considered feeding the rode through the chock and securing to the cleat if there was foul weather on the way.
