I am looking at a 2009 R25 with a 130hp Cummins. I have several questions perhaps someone can help me out with.

1. The boat has a Garmin radar and a replacement Garmin 5212 chart plotter that is not hooked up to the radar. What would I need to hook them together so I can use the radar?
2. What would a good Garmin Autopilot model be? Any rough idea of an installed cost? I am good with marine electrical wiring but sadly not electronics. Is this something I might attempt myself or would it be advisable to have an experienced installer do it?
3. Am I correct that a 2.5KW Mase Gen set will run the standard reverse cycle air/heat?
4. Any suggestions about a good location for a small microwave?

I am really looking forward to my first Ranger Tug and have found the Tugnut posts to be very informative and useful!

Thank you in advance for any suggestions and advice you might wish to offer.

Our Mace runs the ac easily, same time as the stove.

Garmin is basically plug and play. If your radar dome is Garmin you should be able to plug it in. Hopefully there are two leads going up to the mast. Plug those in and then there should be a connection on the backbone for the NEMA and a power connection behind the helm. At one point Ranger was using a different brand so the former owner may not have run the appropriate wiring. Odd though that he would have bought the equipment and not hooked it up.

For our R25 Classic we bought a small Whirlpool microwave. It’s a Whirlpool WMC20005YD Countertop Microwave. Stores in cave when not in use. In use, we put it on the shelf above the cave opening. The round back let’s it tuck into the corner next to the windows so it takes up minimal space. About $140 shipped.

I used to own one. I think the Cummings engine actually
is 150 HP
