I ordered a 2015 Cutwater 28 just after the Seattle boat show which is to be delivered mid-April and have a few questions of current Cutwater 28 boat owners. I plan on primarily using it for fishing, shrimping and crabbing along with occasional cruises to Victoria BC and the West coast of Vancouver Island. I will be keeping the boat in Puget Sound at the Sandy Hook boating community on the southwest tip of Whidbey Island. The dealer was planning on painting the bottom with Petit epoxy coating for the primer followed by two coats of the Petit Vivid antifouling paint. This is a hybrid dual biocide antifouling paint that I have no experience with. In the past I have always used Interlux Micron CSC or Micron 66 with good results, usually touching up or putting on an additional coat every two years as the ablative wears off. Any comments?
Secondly, I want to put on a cockpit cover for when I’m not using the boat. I’m thinking of one that attaches to the extended hardtop and slants down to the stern and is also attached to the outside of the cockpit gunwales. Anyone have any experience or pictures of such a cover on the Cutwater 28?
