I am a new owner of a 2015 R-21EC and am looking for four brass porthole covers that are resisting my efforts to take the tarnish off.

Also, what are the procedures for removal and replacement.

Thank you

Brass ??? That's funny mine are green !
But after a career of polishing brass for the government, I decided to go el-natural.
There are 7 screws holding them in place with sealant (for water proofing) . You'll need two people to remove, one inside and one outside the boat. I've seen them on Amazon for about $150.00 each but would check out the bolt pattern for proper fit.
There are some good brass polish / restorer products on the market, the easiest way is to tape the area around them, as you would for painting ,the application with a tooth brush will help get into thoes hard to reach areas.
Good luck

I feel your pain!!!

The portholes on my R-21EC were neglected by the previous owner and I am in the process of cleaning them up. Nevr-Dull wadding works well to remove the oxidation but it requires copious amounts of one additional ingredient.......ELBOW GREASE!! 😉

If you find a better solution please let me know.......as I am running out of ingredient number 2 ...

Thanks for your help.

I went with Everbrite in California for their three part process.

Part 1 is a clear water soluble gel that is brushed on and set for at least an hour.

Remove with a damp cloth and make sure it is dry.

Part 2 is a polish, from a tube and is much like Brasso with lots of rub a dub.

Part 3 is a protector cover brushed on with at least two coats an hour apart.

We must really like the original brass because we will most likely have to do this 4 hour procedure at least twice a year.

From the Owner of 2015 R-21 EC Semper Fi.
