A few months ago I posted asking if anyone had modified the R21-EC stern couch to turn it into a removable berth. A few people asked that if I made the modification, that I post pics of how it was done. Check out the album in my pictures of the finished project. It is plenty comfortable to sleep on and is great for lounging while cruising as well. Installed cleats made out of Starboard to the stern locker, fender lockers and the motor box. Starboard insert sits on top of them with runners mounted to the bottom of the starboard insert to hold in place. Fits tightly. Cushion snaps onto the bottom of the starboard insert. When not in use, the starboard fits nicely under the mattress in the cabin, and the cushion fits perfectly at the end of it. I won't keep this onboard everyday, only when we are staying overnight. This gives both me and my wife our own berth. Much more comfortable!
