Good day all. We’re looking into up-sizing from our EC-21 to an R-23. We live in Florida where having A/C is essential during the summer. I’d like to hear from any R-23 owner that has AC about how well you feel it cools the cabin and sleeping area. I’ve been told the 2020 model nixed the generator in favor of an inverter system due to persistent generator problems. Any truth to that? I’m not so interested in having the ac working while moving but mainly to be used at anchor. Thanks for any feedback.

Our R23 is in Tierra Verde. We have both AC and the generator. It gets hot here. AC is a must for overnights and to dehumidify. We are lying in the v-berth now, having a morning coffee, the AC is humming and all is well. They sell a remote for the webasto system which we have found convenient. The generator is great for AC, cooking etc on the hook or during slow runs on the inter-coastal. Run your generator, change the zinc, and occassionlly swap out the O2 sensor.

In my 23 you can hang meat with the AC on. It gets hot n humid in NJ summers. I run a 2000 watt generator from Harbor Freight. with a 10ga extension cord 6' to a shore power adapter. Runs fine. The heavy gauge cord is the key.

We have a 2020 R-23, but it must have been an early production model as we don't have the inverter A/C combo. Our A/C on shore power works fantastic, plenty cold. Cheers! -Norm
