I know of one other R 23 owner that has the same problem as I, that is the catch on the cockpit door (adhered to the glass) won’t stay glued to the glass. Gorilla glue has been tried but to no avail. Has anyone had this experience and come up with a solution that works. The factory uses a sticky tape (thin) I believe. While looking at the way they come together, they do not seem to go flush when they meet.

Hey there John,

We certainly recognize that there is an issue with these glued on pieces sticking to the glass and are changing procedure in house. What I have done for ones that have come loose was use a black 5200 fast cure and sand the plastic block the catch is hooked to so I get a good bond. Clean the glass where it sticks really well. Tape it in place and let cure 24 hours. Seems to hold really well for the ones I have done locally. We are happy to cover it under warranty through Peter if you want to get in touch with him to have it fixed.

Thanks John,

Andrew,
Thanks for getting back to me. That sounds like a good solution and I'll give it a try. Peter has enough on his plate.
Have a great holiday.

Mark,
Mine came off the latter part of September and I decided to wait until warmer temperatures in the spring to follow what Andrew suggested for reattachment.
Thanks,
John
