Does the door to the head close when using the head?

Good answer and also true.
The door closes to conceal the v birth and give you head privacy.
But when the door is open to the rest of the boat the head is closed.
I hope that is as confusing to understand as it was to write.

Thanks. I can kind of picture it but will need to see in person.

When I reviewed the R-23 about a week ago I found if you're on the head the door cannot be closed. Privacy is obtained while on the head by having no one else in the V-berth area, door open and positioned in fully open position covering the opening between cabin and V-berth area and a canvas hood that is unfurled to act as a roof from top of door and the windshield area.

If you were to want privacy from anyone else in the V-berth area while on the head you would need to deploy the shower curtain that wraps around.

The only way to fully understand this is to physically explore this aspect yourself. 😱 IMO, it does work and the design of it is most intriguing and clever use of space.

I agree about the usability. Amazing utilization with the space of 23 feet. We absolutely love ours!
