R-23 (Outboard)
Hello,

I just bought a used 2021 Ranger Tug R-23 and will be boating on Lake George this season. As part of the invasive species prevention rules, I need to plug all underwater discharge points before launching.

I’m trying to confirm how many discharge fittings the R-23 has below the waterline and what sizes they are so I can buy the correct marine plugs before my trip.

From what I can see so far, there may be:
  • Sink drain
  • Bilge pump discharge(s)
  • Head/macerator discharge (if applicable)
If any R-23 owners have measured these or already have plugs, could you share the sizes and how many you needed? Any product recommendations that fit well and hold up over time.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

Not sure about the regulations on Lake George, but the R32 has no discharge ports that are below the water line. They are all above. The only items that are below the water line are raw water pickups for the washdown pump and the AC pickup (if your boat is equipped with AC) and of course the garboard plug, which by its own definition already contains a plug. Hope this helps somewhat but please let me know if I didn't understand correctly.

Cheers,

Ralf
