Hello,

Wanted to post about the R23 Tug for anyone that might be interested...

I purchased this boat last year at the Tacoma Boat Show, and took delivery in May 2016. Originally I wasn't supposed to take delivery until September 2016, but was told that sometimes folks back out for whatever reason, and to my happy surprise, this is just what happened.

A day was scheduled to take delivery, we met Kenny, and spent the day with him on the water learning the ins and outs of the new boat. Kenny was very knowledgable and helpful, we had a great time.

After spending the whole summer using the Tug (I logged 100/hrs on the motor) all I can say is I totally love it, and have nothing that I can think of that would be negative. I did have a couple of small issues that needed fixed, and they were all taken care of promptly...The Ranger service tech (Ivan Guzman) came to the boat, and worked on it on the buoy, he always cleaned up so nicely before leaving.

Some of the things I enjoy most about the R23 are: Lots of storage, fast (41/mph my top speed), quite motor, great visibility when under way, bow thruster, and just the plane fact it's so very different than any other boat I see on the water...gets a lot of complements.

Traveled the South Puget Sound most of the summer, and didn't see another R23, but I'm thinking that might change next summer!

The Tug, and all the Ranger Staff are all top notch.

Kind Regards,
Brent

Congrats on your new boat. Sounds like it is a winner!

Hello! So happy to read your positive review of your 23' Ranger Tug! We are in the process of buying a 23 and are in Olympia. Do you have a dinghy and if so, how is it mounted?

Brent,

Very nice response and your timing is great with many recently sold at the Seattle Boat Show! Kenny and Ivan do a great job and a little shout out every once in a while keeps these guys motivated! Thanks again and great job Kenny and Ivan!

Not sure where you would place a dinghy, we use lightweight kaiaks, that easily mount to the roof racks...fairly easy to slide them on and off. Glad you are in the process, I'm sure you will love your new tug.

What power does your new Ranger 23 have? I am a Canadian and considering buying one.

Thanks for the report.

What are the dimensions on the berth(s)? I'm 6'2" and often find boats a bit cramped.

Not sure of the dimensions but I'm 6' 1" and have taken a comfortable 2 hour nap on our R-23. Have yet to spend the night on it. We look at our R-23 as a day boat with maybe an occasional over night staying at a marina. I feel if your looking for longer trips the R-25 would be the minimum.

By power, I'm guessing your talking about the motor, and not electrical power..The R23 comes standard with a Yamaha 200/hp, have been very impressed with all aspects.
