I realize that the V birth bedding has been talked about on this forum and the cows are still coming home!

I you are the owner of an R 23 you have experienced the very difficult job it is to get access to the storage on either side of the V birth. You can lift them slightly but total removal is almost near impossible without marring the teak woodwork at the head end which I have done on both sides. You can remove a small square cushion at the front and get some wiggle room to remove it, then there is the problem of where to put it to be out of the way. This is no quick in and out if you need total access.

On version 2.0 I would suggest a triangular cushion for the bow ending at the point where the table filler begins (there is huge storage toward the front that you cannot get at). Square off the two sides so they can be raised with little difficulty. Bingo bango, easy access.

It probably looked great on paper (cad) but I doubt if on the first test drive someone tried to go under and said, wow that’s easy.

Yes.... I feel your pain on this issue as this has been an issue with the way Ranger Tugs has arranged the V-berth cushions for a long time. However, Ranger Tugs has finally resolved this in their new 2018 R-27 thank goodness.

They've made the side bunk cushions smaller.
There's a separate bow cushion.
There's a gap between lower edge of the bolsters and the bunk cushions making it easy-peaseee to lift the bunk cushion to gain access to the storage ares underneath.

This was about time IMO.

John,

Thank you for the suggestion, I will see if that is something we can do. It can be hard to change due to production and changing how we build and the materials we use. If i remember correctly there are side panels to lean against on either side, if you remove those by simply pulling up on them it allows you to remove the cushion to access the storage much easier. Let me know if you have any questions and I will be happy to assist you.

Thank you.
