R-23

Update:
Some how pocket yachts ended up owing me $1600+. so breaking for the Garmin Radar wasn't such a big hit. So I did it.
Anyone want to buy a Furuno MODEL1623? They still make these and new sell for $1,295.00. Offers?
 
I’ve admired Rangers for quite awhile. Had sailed a predecessor, Kent ranger 26, for many years, and always felt that it was a solid, safe boat that was very seakindly in big water. Made the switch to power only because Ranger invented their new R23. This boat gives me the same feeling of confidence and safety. Ive had her out a few times and love the way she moves in the water. Only second thought was : I think I’d add a factory installed kicker. Their price is pretty fair and they will install it correctly.

Hi Paul,

We will be the proud owners of a brand new 2018 R-23 in Claret Red by about 1:00pm today when we sign the papers. The boat kind of fell into our lap from the factory as it was built for another owner but there was some kind of discrepancy on the color (or something like that). So instead of waiting 2 more months, the boat is ready now and we will be taking possession on Monday in Everett where we begin our 2-day orientation with Kenny and Tim. We're very excited!! Our C-Brat friends will be surprised to see we will have a Claret Red boat as we originally ordered the boat in Hunter Green but we really do like the color. So I guess we won't have twin boats after all SgtAlf. 🙁

To answer your question, we will be keeping the boat at Twin Bridges Marina, located on Hwy 20 between Mount Vernon and Anacortes. We kept our C-Dory there for most of the past 12 years. It's a great dry storage facility so we know that our boat will be kept warm and dry during the winter. Just a bit pricey. :|

We are really looking forward to beginning our new adventures on our R-23 and anticipate using her throughout the year. Hopefully we can connect with other RT owners around the Salish Sea in the years to come. The mini-cruises proposed by Ernie (I think) sounds like a great way to easing our way into R-23 ownership.

Aw man, the Green hull club just got smaller. Red, Green, Who cares, just enjoy the Boat!!
 
Well, at some point we should have enough of us 23's that we can get a group of "fast" boats to go to desolation sound and points north ;-)
 
We are planning on going on the trip to Desolation Sound in 2018! Get signed up all you 23 owners!

Would you allow my R-27/OB to join the R-23 flotilla ? :lol: So long as you don't look to closely the R-23 and R-27 outboard models look very similar.... 🙂

I'll be at Kent Narrows week after next, for work :cry: I will visit my R-23 at Pocket Yachts.
I am planning a cruise to St. Michaels for sometime this summer, or next. Keep an eye out!
 
We will be doing the desolation sound cruise as well this year. Haven't heard dates yet though.

Sounds like it could be a lot of fun!

Congrats on the new R-23! My wife and I took possession of ours back in May after falling in love with the rangers at the Bay Bridge Boat Show. Had a great summer exploring some of the Chesapeake Bay. Hoping to do some longer trips next season.
