When I was taking my boat out of the water for the winter, I discovered the aft thruster was not working in the starboard direction. It worked fine for going to port but not to starboard. Just silence when I moved the joy stick to go to starboard. I assumed this might be an electrical connection problem somewhere in the thruster's circuit or possibly a problem with the joy stick controller itself since the thruster seem to working fine but only in one direction. I put off tearing into this project until spring.

While I am waiting for warmer weather, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar problem with their thruster and what was the fix?

While waiting for the weather to warm up, I'd suggest conducting a search for "thruster" in each of the forums. There's a wealth of info there - perhaps more than you will want to know. I've had my own share of thruster issues, which led to replacing both fore and aft thrusters on our 2007 R-25 last spring. Hopefully, your issues will not lead to that drastic step.

Ken, if you PM me with your e-mail address I will send you an excellent troubleshooting guide which I received from Side-Power when I went through an issue with my thrusters. It took me step-by-step to isolate the issue which ended up being electrical in the joy stick controller. There is also a section on one direction operation such as you have. The control head is very easy to remove for all troubleshooting - four small screws and it is out. The guide is very well structured, easy to understand and best of all has color photos showing steps.
Best regards,
Mike

Howard, thanks for posting the web site. After the folks at Imtra sent me a copy of the troubleshooting guide I did not think to go deeper as I resolved my issue. I found the guide to be one of the better one's as photos and labels made it very easy, and easy troubleshooting is what I like.
