Hello everyone! I have been lurking sense the first of the year. I purchased a new (demo) 2010 R-25 at the end of February and have to say I have been THRILLED with it and this forum. I have made many recommended modifications, found the oil line for the service advisory (not a small feat until I read how to find it here), got my hat and am a walking promotion for Ranger Tugs and their customer service. Thank you all for being such a great resource and being so supportive.

That all being said, I am looking for help on a problem. The dinette table posts are coming loose at the bottom and breaking the plastic threads at the base of the posts. This is happening when the front seat is in the forward facing position, and someone is sitting in it. The seat rubs on the table and pushes back and eventually with enough waves, the plastic threads at the bottom break loose. It sort of seems like a design flaw. I have not seen anyone else complain; I wondered if it was fixed, I am missing a piece that holds the chair forward, or?? I noticed one person put a rail up on the side to hold the table in place, I am almost there but drilling through the side and making sure I am all lined up has me a little concerned, also I am not sure that it might not still flex.

Not sure with the 21 but on the 29 there is a lever under the table facing the stern to slide the table forward or backward, I would not have known about it if I had not been shown ..

There has been much written on TugNuts regarding the proper procedure (bend over under table and push it up with your shoulders) to remove it as the pedestals get stuck.

With regard to your issue, you might contact Suwannee who installed a slide between the table and the pedestal mount; http://www.tugnuts.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2737&p=19946&hilit=dining+table#p19946. I have such a slide on my table in my Northern Lite truck camper, but a quick search under camper dinette table slide yielded no results. Suwannee might have some information, though.

I would love information on replacing the two pedestals on the R25 with a single pedestal that does not need to be removed to convert to a berth; i.e., just goes up and down under the table. I believe the R25sc may come with such a device and I know the R27s do. Does anyone have information on what model pedestal should be used for such an replacement? Any advice?

OK, as I did not get a flood of replies, I decided to dig into the problem deeper. I found the port side lower bracket screw was loose allowing the seat to sit back about 2 inches farther back and flex quite a bit more than it should. That was enough to cause the problem. I think I have it fixed at this point. I am thinking of still adding a rail on the side so the table is a bit more stable.

I'd suggest you make contact with Richard at Ranger Tugs in Kent. He's in charge of all the parts that go into our boats, is very helpful and I'd bet could get you the information for the adjustable pedestal you're looking for.

That's a Springfield "air powered" table pedestal .
