I am making an offer on an R-27 (2012) this weekend. Pretty excited.
Also impatient....
Are owners manuals posted online for viewing?

You can find the R27 manual under the home page of Tugnuts. Once there click onto "forum index" in the upper left corner. Once this opens up click onto "Ranger Tug Technical Bulletins" and scroll down to R27 manual.

Ok, that was a good start. I got the manual and I'm on my second reading and studying it much more closely. Enjoying every minute.
Also, I'm wondering if there is also a more in depth document with maintenance schedules and operating instructions? There are a lot of new systems here that I want to bone up on. if I can't busy myself with reading, I'll go crazy.

Purchase Update: My offer was accepted. Woo hoo! We plan on settling by the end of March.

Thanks all,
Rich

Congrats...My 29 came with an extensive file of equipment specific manuals. Most are available on line which I have loaded onto my iPad for easy reference. Good luck tons of stuff to read and learn.

Rpmerrill, yes, there is a lot to learn about your soon to be R27. I expect as part of the purchase process you were given a detailed list of installed components on the boat. An example of what I have in mind are the navigation (Garmin) electronics. Another important manual is the engine PDF. Page 37 of the R27 manual will list the makes of many other components. So what you can do now is go online and down load the relevant PDF user and installation manuals. There is lots of reading material for you to study. Just mastering the Garmin operation takes considerable study.
I have down loaded many competent documents onto my tablet. When I go cruising I have the tablet along such that I can look instructions on any component as might be required.

Further to my post of Feb 07, it has occurred to me that I failed to include a very useful source of information – that is the Tugnuts site. On this site you will find more than 6500 topics. The sum total of the Ranger owner community experience and knowledge stored in the postings is vast. The search feature enables one to find information on most topics of interest. For examples try impeller, or thruster or anodes. These searches work best if you work from the Home page, Menu, Contents, Search (look for the blue box, top, left). This path leads you to a key word search in all of the posts stored on the Tugnuts site.
Another interesting feature of the Tugnuts site is Albums section of the Gallery. Look through the Tugnuts Owner Album to see the many modifications owners have made to their tugs.

Oh ya, I have seen the collection of documents that will come to me at settlement. But settlement is over a month away.
I gotta read stuff or I'll go crazy waiting so long.

RP,
What I am trying to say here, is that knowing what is on the boat you can go to the relevant web sites and download the manuals. There is no need to wait. PM me your email@ and I will send you an example download document.
