Thinking of changing out water pump to increase water pressure especially at shower. I have a new Shur Flow pump from my R V days. It produces 5 gals. Per minute and 65 psi. Has anyone done anything like this? To much pressure? Blow out hose or connections? Suggestions? Thanks

65 Psi is a little high, should work though ( I would probably want it in the 40 psi area). If you're looking for more pressure/flow at the shower you might want to start there. The shower valves/shower heads have flow restrictors in them to conserve water, especially since you're probably dealing with an 11 gal hot water heater. Try replacing the shower head with a household model and see if that helps(these also sometimes have some type of flow restrictor that might need to be removed/drilled out or played with). I did this with both the shower in the head and the cockpit and got improved results.

We too wanted to increase flow at the shower on our 29CB. After whining about this to Andrew he suggested removing the flow restrictor on the shower head. Unscrew the shower from the hose and you should find a small ceramic disk constricting the flow. Give that a shot.

Only downside was that we use water in the tank faster. Ok when dockside, not so good on the hook. Back to navy showers, albeit with more force.
