Much of Ranger Tugs under water hardware comes from Marine Hardware Company.

Check out the shaft catalog, page 27 for the packing gland. Our 2015 RT31 uses their nut style for the 1.5 inch shaft.
If the engine is aligned properly, this packing gland has regularly given us 200+ hours of service without adjustment. If the alignment is off, you will be adjusting regularly.
Make sure your maint tech is truly knowledgeable on alignments. A poor maintenance tech will make things worse.
