A teak swim platform would look very nice on your classic.

So far I'm happy with my port or starboard boarding ladder for swimming. Were I to put a swim platform on the boat it would be mostly used to house my kicker gas tank or other bulky storage that would handle some water. I would definitely go with teak. I've toyed with buying an off the shelf teak platform and modifying it to extend from starboard to port, but stop at the kicker bracket. It would be two thirds swim platform.
