Hello! New owner of a 2005 R21 Classic here. I’ve found answers to most all of my questions on this forum (thank you!), but still have a question: Where is the seacock located? I understand there should be a valve somewhere, but can't find it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

If you have a access plate between the motor box and the cabin you might want to look in the bilge area towards the port side, it should be a 90 degree ball valve. If that doesn't work out for you, you can load the boat on the trailer, hook up a garden hose to the raw water and look for the wet spot under the boat! The hull valve should be on the other side of the hull. Good luck, Bob

I also have a 2005 R21 Classic. To see the seacock, you need to lift out the fuel tank. There should be sufficient fuel hose to set the tank alongside the starboard side of the motor. I have a set of lines around the tank to facilitate lifting it out.

Thanks! Considering how well the boat is designed, it seems awkward, but as I’ll be keeping the boat on a trailer, there shouldn’t be problem keeping it open? The boat’s been sitting in a barn for several years, so I’ll drain and remove the tank to clean out the bilge and make sure the bilge pump is working. Then move off to service the motor. No doubt more questions will follow!

Forgive my curiosity but can you easily reach it to shut it off without removing the fuel tank? Seems like a weird setup.

Either gotta move the tank or lift it just enough that a helper can reach under and actuate the valve. Wish there were another way. Small boat with a lot of stuff in a small place. Just wait until you get to the shaft packing....

Some earlier posts suggested a smaller tank. I think 8 - 10 gallons would be plenty for my use. Is that a viable option?

Another option would be to install a reach rod from the valve to a location that is accessible!
Small universal joints, bar stock and hangers can be purchased from local hardware stores, the valve could be placed at deck level in the motor box out of site but quickly accessed in case of an emergency. Bob

Lots of options. Because the seacock is a pretty important item, I just move the tank. No big deal. Been doing that since 2010. Cheers!!

Just got through installing a new cutlass bearing and dripless shaft seal. On my 1995 R21 Classic, there is a inspection port below the battery tray, and the seacock was right there below it.

It's not that big of a project to re-locate the fuel tank to the aft seat storage locker (its only a 5 gallon tank). I did it in a weekend.
There were pictures in my gallery of the process and end product, but they seem to have been gradually "disappeared" by somebody, as my gallery seems to be shrinking through no fault of mine. It used to be 3 pages and is now down to 1 page.

I'd add a picture back to my gallery for you but it does seem to want me to.

The valve sits below the batteries. You'll have to remove the batteries, then there is a inspection hole under the batteries.
