R21 ec, 2013, 12 v Electrics

Have winterized boat. Both batt switches, panel and thruster, off. Also turned off 100 amp breaker in engine box. But, start battery still active and bilge pump working. Besides disconnecting the batteries, how do I turn off everything for the winter?

Afternoon Stewart,
Even with all switches off, the bilge pump will still work. This is a safety feature, as the cockpit floor is below water level, and is wired directly to the house battery. Also, if you have a Fusion radio, it's memory is constantly powered and will drain the house battery over time. Pulling its in-line fuse is the easiest way to disconnect it.

Best thing to do is just disconnect all the yellow ground wires from the battery terminals, after you have fully charged them. In Canada all my batteries read 12.7 in the spring. I have 1 starter and 3 house batteries in my 21ec. I leave the switches alone in the on position ready for running. In the spring, measure all battery voltage, if ok then connect ground wires and you are ready to put them back on charge to get ready for summer running.
