Hi Fran: I love the mast support design! So simple, I never thought of using the poly pipe. I have lots of that stuff around the house and the shed and never gave it a thought. It would have been simpler for me too. Anyway, I will stick with my design, but yours is certainly practical and also aesthetic. Congratulations.

I also like the look of your vessel - the hull colour is great too. What breed of dog is that? Does he/she have Labrador breeding? I have two Golden Labrador/Retrievers (short haired) but they are not boat trained unfortunately. Anyway, I envy you having such a lovely part of the world to drive your boat. Those canals and bridges look awesome. Kind regards, Stevan.

PS: I will add some picture of my boat when I get the chance to take some.

I just use a fender rope and tie to the forward cleat. Works for me if you'd rather not fabricate.

Hello Steven, Thanks for your comments on the mast support. I'm sure all the design variants will accomplish the same desired result. As for the dog "Nick", he is a five year old Humane Society rescue dog and if we ever had a DNA analysis run on him it would come back with a check-mark in the box indicating ""all the above" ....... he is really a great, and apparently grateful, member of the family. 🙂

Hi Fran: Like the look of your diesel 'second' boat. That is what we, in Australia, call a 'putt-putt'. Usually, they are all pretty old and of clinker design. Yours looks in fine condition - do you take it out much? Also, what year model is your R21? Mine is a 2010 model. Regards, Stevan
