Hello,
Any R21-EC owners have a solution for some privacy on the v-berth head? We hope to take delivery of the Miss Dee in the next week or so and Miss Dee (my wife) is wondering if there is some sort of privacy curtain for times when you have guests aboard? I have searched the blog and haven't seen this addressed. Thanks.
Best,
Patrick

To tell the truth, privacy on such a small boat is one thing that is not always easy to maintain. But generally privacy in the pilot house relies on closing the door and installing a curtain over the window. (assuming no "peepers" are on deck 😱 and the pilot is either absent or on good terms with your bodily functions).

I suppose the factory is still installing a small curtain with snaps which covers the back window and the area of the door window. That is sufficient if one chases everyone from the pilot house except "the user", closes the door, and snaps the curtain in place. We have fitted ours with some velcro@ tabs and normally leave it snapped in place over the back window (the galley area) with the section that covers the door folded back on the other and held by the velcro@.

Boats to which you might be rafted, or spectators on marina docks are another order of difficulty, of course, since you have to deal with side and forward windows.

At night, it is a bit awkward but generally one intimate enough to be sleeping with you will understand. We do remove our Porta Potti@ from under the berth at night and put it on a mat on the pilot house sole near the doorway. What with BPH and such, it makes it less troublesome for us geezers during the night since the berth stays intact. A built-in head does not allow that convenience. That is one reason to seriously consider the portable if anyone over 25 plans to overnight on an R21-EC. (There are other reasons, as well, but that one was convincing enough for us)
