Some have suggested mounting them horizontally on a boat because with a vertical mount the pounding some boats are subjected to compacts the powder on the bottom. Either way you should periodically shake them turning them as you do.

Hi guys: I have two - one mounted upright, down low, port side, below the stereo/CD player and the other mounted higher up, just inside the wheelhouse door, above the wash basin. Hope that helps. Regards
