R21EC Macerator Disconnect

Hello,

I have recently purchased a R21EC and found out that the lake we will be on most of the time requires that the macerator pump needs to be disconnected. Fortunately because our tug is trailer-able, we can cruise other lakes in the meantime.

There is about 4 inches of black hose that runs between the macerator and black water tank that probably would be ideal to cap somehow. Any suggestions on how to do this? Ideally I would not want to completely remove the pump but would keep it in place in case we decide to sell so it could be relatively easy to put back in service (but not too easy to put back in service to stay in compliance while boating.)

There should be a fuse somewhere in the electrical connection. If you take the fuse out it will disable the pump.

There is a plug on top of the tank that powers the macerator. This will prevent it from working. Also zip tie the valve closed that is located under the seat. You will enjoy using the macerator when you clean out the boat at the end of season at home on the trailer . We have it pumped out at marinas but when home I fill the tank with water and add bleach to sanitize the tank, then turn on the macerator to empty. It winterized I add a RV antifreeze to the toilet and pump into tank and then pump out to winterized the lines.

Thanks for the replies they make sense. I was thinking of just disconnecting it electrically but the wording of the rule states it has to be removed. I'm guessing they are making it so after a few cocktails, someone couldn't reconnect the system and turn on. 🙂
