When charging the batteries on the R23 utilizing the onboard charger, is the bow thruster battery (the 4th battery) also being charged? I believe the answer is no.

I'm no expert on the system but I think the Abso 1220 charger can charge 3 separate battery banks. 1-starting, 2-house (2 batteries) & 3-thruster. Maybe someone else can shed some light.

There is an ACR (Automatic Charging Relay) that will connect the engine and thruster batteries together when a voltage greater than 13 volts is applied.

As Curt said, there are automatic relays that will connect the Thruster battery to the engine battery when charging, if the battery voltage is high enough. It will not connect to a battery whose voltage is less than 10 volts as it assumes there is an issue with that battery. The schematic for this is in the R23 manual, although I don't know if it includes the operating principles/parameters for the relays.

Thanks all. I finally got up to the boat today and needed to give all the batteries a bit of a charge. I'm getting the boat ready as Spring is near, the temps are going to be in the high 60's next week and I'm itching to use the boat!
