R23 Fold away side seats

While looking at the new R23 at the Boston boat show, my wife was sitting on a fold down side seat on an R29. She called over to me, my dealer, Peter Haywood and Andrew and asked if this seating could be added to the new boat. I looked at both gentlemen and asked, well? They looked at each other, shrugged and said, sure. The side walls are reinforced in two places on both sides of the cockpit to support the seat. The factory sent the hinges and Peter ordered the fabric and built the seats. They are very comfortable and fold up to get at the two side hatches or to just have an open cockpit for dancing! I have put a few pictures in my album. They have been a big hit with everyone who has seen them.

So you added an extra seat on each side?

Yes, I did. I may not use them all at once, but I have and it gives me choices depending on the seating needed.
