R23 Hot Water Heater

Yes there is.

Wow I never thought of the fact no water heating from the outboard.. good point.. I would look at a hydronic diesel heater. That would make hot water on the hook.

Or you could try a gen set....the heater element is 750w so a 1000w gen set would work well. I use a Honda on my C242 to heat the water... it takes apron 60 min. I didn't want to put another hole in the hull for a diesel exhaust.

I thought about the Honda when we had the 23 Venture. On that boat I didn’t want to crowd the cockpit with the Honda and the spare gas. Can you plug it in to run directly off the main tank?

I assume you could run it off your main tank. The Honda 1000w gen set has a 2 litre tank and will run for 3 hours full load before you need to refill. So I only carry a 5 liter gas can when I'm out and that doesn't take up a lot of room.

You can modify the Honda generator gas cap to use an outboard tank. Search Honda generator gas cap modification and you will find many articles and videos on how to do it or you can buy a modified cap for about $30.00. You would then have to figure out how to use the existing fuel line to your outboard.

Yes the generator is a much simpler and cost effective fix 🙂 And good also for Boater Homing on a trailer. So with the outboard you also lose out on the cabin heater from the engine. You would think someone would figure a way to tap into the outboard engine exhaust water. I guess you give up heat for waterskiing 🙂
