Finished up installing new PLANAR 2 kW diesel heater. Put it in the same place as the factory, under the port passenger seat. One vent to V-berth and one under the table. Controls are back in V-berth next to sink so they can be adjusted without getting out of bed 😀 Crazy drilling a big o' hole in the side of the boat. If anybody has any questions hit me up. BTW, gets nice and toasty.

1) I take it you have a Volvo stern drive R-23, right ?

2) When the heater is running what kind of noise do you hear standing outside of the boat from the Planar's exhaust port ?

3) Does the heater unit make any disturbing noises (from the fan and/or the fuel pump) inside the cabin at night time ?

4) Was the "big o' hole" for the Planar's thru-hull exhaust port ?

5) The fuel pickup you had to make in the boat's fuel tank will not drain the main tank, right ?

6) Well done and is such a fantastic job you've done. 😀 for you.

Love our Planar... nice job. Like the thermostat close to the bed idea 🙂
Enjoy .. out of the 4 heat sources we have the Diesel heat is the nicest.

YES, We got the Diesel 🙂

I'll have to get back to you on that, I was just inside enjoying the sweet warmth.

3) Does the heater unit make any disturbing noises (from the fan and/or the fuel pump) inside the cabin at night time ?
We have not overnighted in her yet. Fuel pump is in the engine compartment. During my testing, fan was not super loud. I'll get back after a overnighter

Oh Yeah Pretty crazy drilling that

5) The fuel pickup you had to make in the boat's fuel tank will not drain the main tank, right ?
No I kept the pickup about 1'' off bottom of tank

6) Well done and is such a fantastic job you've done. 😀 for you.
Thanks!
