Hi Guys
Does anybody know what steering system is used in the R23. I'm wondering if there is any adjustment in the system. When wheel is turned hard port or starboard it seems to stick a bit when straightening out. Can be a bit un-nerving when manuvering at slow speeds.
thx

I found the same thing on both the R23 and the R27OB I took out for a test runs. Dealer said all new hydraulic steering systems tend to do that and over time it will smooth out. It was just the new hydraulic seals sticking and needing to seat/wear in. I was also sent a link that showed that sometimes the linkages on the engine were not aligned properly during installation and caused some sticking. I am afraid I didn't save the link on this computer.

Greetings,
I had similar issues and posted in mid July. My Hydraulic reservoir was low and I filled it. I was told there was air in the line. I checked for leaks on the lines and found none. I now check each time I go out. I have added fluid more than a few times and have set up an appointment to check it. I understand the feeling when your maneuvering in tight marina and your steering is sluggish. My appointment is next month, I will post the results. In the meantime if you find out your issues please advise. Thank you

Juan

Since you're discussing the steering, thought I would insert my question here. Does the R23 use power assisted hydraulic steering or non-power assisted? Does it take much effort to steer at low speeds? Thanks. Jake

Where is the hydraulic reservoir located on the R23? Sounds like something I should check periodically!

Greetings,
I have the R23 Diesel, so if you have the OB Im not sure. As for the the R23D the Steering hydraulic fluid reservoir is located behind the engine on the right side.
