R23 v-berth hatches

Did I read somewhere that the hatches in the R23 v-berth are HMG Jim Black Marine Boat Hatches size 16x16? If not, if a R23 owner is near their boat, could you confirm the size and make? I'd like to buy privacy screens for the hatches.

You can certainly order something but we made our own at very little expense. Went to a fabric store and got marine grade vinyl, measured the openings and cut our own. Easy and inexpensive!

I just measured to be exact. Yes 16*16.

You will want covers for the 2 portholes and the side vent. Vent is 13 1/3 by 3 1/2. Don't forget the one in the head Portholes (2) are 5 3/4 inside diameter. Just sunbrella doesn't make it dark enough. We added windshield screen reflector. Made them ourselves but had the edges finished. Pics in my album

Thanks for the replies and measurements. Making covers sure make sense and I like what you did tpfahey. Problem is we don't have a sewing machine. Can I ask how you mounted the covers?

Used them the whole first year without binding edges. A dry cleaner or canvas shop will do it. Ran me $10 per cover. The covers all rest inside the screens. Pop them out, insert screen, re-add screens. Vents - added them between glass and outside screen, portholes just stay in with edge pressure

I bought a roll up screen from homedepot. The one that looks like fifertex. Used the screen as a template, cut them out, laid them inside the screen. Very nice diffused light.
