We're getting the F-01 fault code on our Webasto heater. I understand I need to remove the fuse in order to reset. Can someone tell me where the fuse is located on the R23?

TIA - Peter

Hey Peter,

The fuse for the Webasto is on the 24/7 fuse block panel in the 1/4 berth. It is at the bottom where the bulkhead meets the floor and there is a small white carpet panel that pulls out and there is fuse block behind the panel. Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Thanks Kevin. I'll look for it on the 24/7 fuse panel. I thought I checked that but may have missed it.

Just to add, I took a photo of the 24/7 fuse panel last fall and I don't see a Webasto fuse on the panel. (See my photo album)

So the search continues. I'll try looking for the inline fuses like those on the R27-OB that were stuck way up in the 1/4 panel or look under the seat where the pump is located.

Hey Peter,

Can you see what the wire is that goes to the 30amp fuse on the 24/7 panel? Also there is a chance it is behind the controller, the bottom carpet panel comes out with a couple screws and opens up access to the backside of the panel and other controls.

Thanks,

Just following up. I finally found the fuses on our R23! They're in a square hole under all of the control panels at the back of the cave.

I spoke to Steve at Sure Marine who explained the reset procedure. Hopefully I can get some Webasto heat again.

Peter

Peter,

Did the reset solve your problem? Do you have heat?

Thanks.
Rick

Hi Rick,

Well the reset procedure did reset the heater and I was able to get heat for a little while. But then it shut down and as I kept resetting I ended up getting 3 different codes. I got F12 once, F02 once and back to the original F01. I've read several posts and I'm going to keep trying. I read that you need to reset several times.
One thing I didn't do is turn off the house battery switch after the reset.

I'm going to contact Steve at Sure Marine for more suggestions and procedures. He also suggested I service the unit by changing out all the gaskets. I bought the kit from him but didn't install. I'll do that next if the resets don't take. At least I got heat for a little while. I'll update what I find.

For visual learners like myself, I thought I'd post a couple of pics of the fuse location.

I was scratching my head for a long time trying to figure out where those darn fuses were. I decided to further investigate by laying flat on my back at the back of the doghouse and wouldn't you know it, I saw the square cut-out with the two fuses inside.

Following up, I was unsuccessful in resetting the Webasto despite numerous reset. I guess I'll have to service it by taking the unit apart, cleaning and changing out the gaskets.

Has anyone else done this?

HI,
My Webasto heater would not start after not being used for a few months. The trick for me was to get the fuel back up the line to the heater; it tends to flow back down when not used for a while.

There is a fuse for the heater in the battery compartment tied directly to a positive pole, it should be marked. When you try to start the heater and it does not start, push the off button, then disconnect the fuse in the battery compartment which will shut off the heater. Put the fuse back in again and try to start the heater; you need to repeat this process until the fuel finally gets up to the heater. After that turn it on once in a while (month) to make sure it has fuel up there. I got this information from the tech at Webasto.

Good luck

Thank you George. I have been doing the reset by pulling the fuses. Hasn't worked so far. I definitely think it's a fuel delivery issue. I'll keep trying.

Acts like it needs a primer bulb like an OB.
Don't know how one could rig it up.

One more item to check would be the inline fuel filter for the stove, it may need to be replaced.

The R23 stove has a fuel filter? My impression was that it was electric/alcohol.
