I would like to know if it is recommended to use a sling type boat lift for the R25. We are looking at a property that has an 8000lb lift where the boat hangs instead of being supported from the bottom. Is this acceptable?
Thanks, Russ Byrer

You bet, I see no problems with a sling. My Mis Dee was picked up with a sling because the guy was concerned about picking it up with the fork lift. Ranger looks heavier then it is.
How old are the slings and what is the condition of the frame work? Test it out a little at a time.. Boy!! it would be nice to have the boat picked up out of the water, but ready to go at a moments notice. You lucky guy.

I would add one other point: I have tied the stern down with a tie down strap, when leveraged tight, it put a huge strain on the gunnels, where the door off the dive platform was a little tight. Didn't hurt a thing. A lift wouldn't put that much strain on it.
