The port and starboard roof drains on my '08 R25 are molded into the gutters of the aft cabin top. On the starboard side, the drain is situated midway along the gutter (its low point) and discharges between the two aft cabin windows. On the port side, however, the drain is centered over the aft-most window (above entrance to cave). In this position, rainwater runs down the window instead of the fiberglass side of the boat. Its position also does not coincide with the the low point of the rain gutter which, as a result, never fully drains (except by evaporation). If anyone else has encountered this problem, I would appreciate advice on a solution. My own inclination is to fill the misplaced port-side drain and drill/grind/glass a new one to match the correctly placed starboard-side drain.

I spent considerable time fashioning two pieces of box shaped aluminum to fit btw the cabin & roof overhang on our CW28 to divert the roof drain runoff to aft about 16" to a point at the front of the sealed aft cabin window. I painted them white & caulked them in place. We had a large amount of water come in both windows that were left open while hiking. We were already aware of the potential, but got boned by the weather in a big way. Needless to say, the problem was windows left open, but in a similar situation now it wouldn't be anything like the amount we got inside. On the port, galley side, it was a big deal & lots of prefinished woodwork was saturated. Not the same boat obviously, but same solution would work I bet. We're away at present, but a could take a pic when home. Might not show well tho b/c it's up in that slot.

Thanks for the reply and description of your modification. I'll adopt a variation. I'm surprised that this issue has not been discussed previously. Surely the misplaced port-side roof drain is not unique to my R25. Or is it?
